How to use EverGrow Bags
EverGrow bags enable compact, high-yield fruit trees with minimal maintenance and flexible placement for a movable orchard.
Discover how to use these innovative bags and the incredible benefits they offer for a flourishing orchard.
How do they work?
EverGrow Bags efficiently restrict and contain roots and can be used both above and below ground. When planted, fine roots penetrate the fabric and extend into the surrounding soil. As they thicken, the outer material compresses them, reducing their vigour. This restriction diverts energy from root, wood, and leaf growth towards the production of flowers, fruits, and nuts. Above ground, the roots experience natural air pruning, fostering a healthy cycle of new root development.
What Size?
Bag size and pruning control the tree's final size. Below ground, a bag supports a canopy around 10 times its size. Above ground, growth is more restricted, so use a larger bag to hold moisture longer.
Size Guide:
10L: Small ornamental trees, bulbs, flowers, herbs.
20L: Leafy trees, small to medium fruit trees.
30L: Fruit trees, berries, ornamentals, bulbs.
40L: Large fruit trees, nuts, ornamentals, bulbs.
80L: Large trees, fruits, vegetables; holds more moisture and supports bigger trunks
Above-Ground vs. Below-Ground:
When positioned above ground, growth restriction is more pronounced since the roots cannot reach the surrounding soil. Roots in this environment often experience higher temperatures and dryness, necessitating more frequent care. For bags placed above ground, it is advisable to select a larger size, as this offers the roots additional space and a greater capacity to retain moisture. Given the increased root restriction in above-ground bags, opting for one size larger is recommended for extended use.
