To the ancient Egyptians, a soothing medicine and even used in magic spells! This versatile herb will add to many culinary delights. Seeds are popular in pickles.

Direct into garden. Cover with Yates Seed Raising Mix, firm down and keep moist. Thin later to 20cm apart.


Grow in full sun but protected from wind. Good drainage is essential. Apply Yates Thrive Soluble Fertiliser every 4 weeks. Use leaves finely chopped in soups, salads, egg, fish and meat dishes. Seeds can be used like the leaves, and also in cakes and breads. If left to flower, Dill will attract many garden-friendly insects that control aphids. Protect from snails with Yates Blitzem.
