Specially formulated for phosphorus-sensitive plants, Native Gardens offers safe and reliable feeding with just two applications per year. Can be used on all phosphorus-sensitive plants including South African natives like proteas, leucadendrons, leucospermums and serrurias as well as Australian natives such as grevilleas, banksias and waratahs.

The best time to apply Native Gardens is in spring and again in late summer. This controlled release fertiliser contains all the nutrients needed for healthy plant growth. The nutrients are released according to temperature - more when it's warm, when plants are growing well, less when it's cold.

N-P-K 23 - 0.5 - 6.3 + additional nutrients including Iron, added trace elements and minerals that are specifically suited to this plant group.

Available Sizes: 500g

Benefits:

  • Contains iron and magnesium to keep leaves greener for longer.
  • Osmocote 6 month fertiliser for controlled release feeding.
  • Contains wetting agent with Hydraflo moisture control.

Directions For Use:

Using the rate recommended on the container, apply the Native Gardens as described below. It can also be added to potting mix and to the soil at planting time.

For established plants

  1. Apply Osmocote at the dripline (below the outer edge of the foliage) and outwards.
  2. Water well and cover with mulch.

For established pots

  1. Sprinkle evenly over the surface of the potting mix.
  2. Water well and top with a thin layer of mulch.

For self-watering pots

  1. Make holes in the potting mix with a pencil or long skewer and fill with columns of Osmocote.
  2. Water initially from the top and the fertiliser will subsequently be diffused through the mix as the water is absorbed from the well of water below.

For advanced trees

  1. Use a narrow garden stake to make small deep holes spaced around the circumference of the tree.
  2. Fill the holes with columns of Osmocote and water the area well.

 For potting up

  1. Mix Osmocote with potting mix at the rate of 5g per 1 litre of potting mix.

Important: Check first to see that the mix does not already contain fertiliser.

For broadcasting

  1. Broadcast Osmocote at the rate of 50-80g per sq m. The exact rate will depend on the existing nutrient level of the soil.

 For water plants

  1. Incorporate Osmocote into the potting medium and top the pot with gravel or pebbles.
